We transformed an exposed deck into a fully enclosed three-season retreat designed for cooking, dining, and relaxation. With improved comfort, weather protection, and flexible use, the space now supports everyday living from early spring through late fall.
A Space Designed to Extend the Seasons
We reimagined the existing deck as a warm, lodge-inspired living space that balances structure, comfort, and connection to the outdoors. A cedar-clad cathedral ceiling with exposed timber framing introduces natural character, while a full-height stone fireplace anchors the room and provides heat for cooler months. Custom-fit three-season windows and retractable screens offer flexibility, allowing the space to shift easily between open-air and enclosed use. The layout supports both lounging and dining, with a seamless transition to a covered BBQ area designed for all-weather cooking. Durable materials—including porcelain tile, aluminum framing, cedar, and stone—were selected to withstand the elements while maintaining a cohesive look with the home’s exterior. Structural upgrades to beams, posts, and footings ensure long-term performance, resulting in a space that feels both grounded and adaptable—built for gathering, relaxing, and extending time spent outdoors.
