A Retreat for Relaxation and Entertainment
We designed a one-of-a-kind addition that combines an indoor spa, sauna, and entertainment hub. With expansive glazing, cedar details, and tailored amenities, the space brings comfort and connection, creating a retreat for year-round enjoyment.
An Indoor Spa and Entertainment Addition
We approached this addition with the goal of creating a versatile hub for entertaining and relaxation. The enclosed space introduced a custom kitchenette, dining area, and dual-sided fireplace as central gathering points, complemented by skylights and expansive glazing to maintain light and openness. On the spa side, a sunken seating area, 14’ swim spa, cedar sauna, and full change room establish a wellness-focused retreat that doubles as an entertainment space. Every feature was carefully planned, from specialized ventilation systems to support poolside conditions to the crane placement of the hot tub during framing.
Refined materials unify the addition with the existing home while enhancing its identity. Natural cedar millwork, a pickled pine ceiling, and site-built mantles bring warmth and craftsmanship, accented by teal finishes and dark feature walls. Oversized sliding doors and floor-to-ceiling windows frame the landscaped backyard, reinforcing the connection between indoors and out. The result is a seamless extension of the home that blends functionality, elegance, and innovation, designed to support exercise, relaxation, and entertaining through every season.
