Chris helps homeowners turn “What can we do with our property?” into a clear plan that the City can approve and the construction team can build. With over 15 years of experience—joining Amsted in 2010 after graduating from Carleton University—he guides projects through zoning rules, safety requirements, and structural considerations so families can make confident decisions about their homes.

He loves that buildings are like big, interesting puzzles, and his favourite part of the job is working through complex rules or tricky conditions to find the right solution for each family. His go-to tip is to start with a proper survey—it’s the best way to understand what’s truly possible on your property.

At home, Chris’s favourite space is the Lego Room, a place to play, think, and stay creative. When he’s not designing or building, he’s often at the Carleton Heights Curling Club, where he’s the Youth Coordinator—the same club where he and his wife curled as teens and where their kids now curl as well. He appreciates being surrounded by experts who share what they know, ensuring homeowners benefit from the collective experience of the Amsted team.
