Dave guides homeowners from early ideas to clear, detailed plans that the construction team can bring to life. Nearly three decades into his design career—he’ll celebrate 30 years in the industry in 2026—he still loves that first moment when clients see their initial design and start to imagine themselves in the space. He’s known for solving tricky design challenges, thinking outside the box with new materials, and using detailed drawings and 3D models to help people clearly understand the plan. His advice for homeowners: start with a plan and take your time with the design—it’s the foundation of every build.

Dave has worked with Amsted, both as a contractor and in-house, for almost his entire career and loves seeing projects through from start to finish alongside such a professional, experienced team. At home, his favourite hangout is the rec/games room, where his arcade setup and racing simulator live. He’s also a Jeep gearhead—building and collecting Jeeps—and loves camping off-grid in true wilderness, far from roads and campsites. A fun fact: he once designed a one-bedroom “castle” with a hot tub on the roof.
