At the Ontario Home Builders’ Association Awards of Distinction on September 29th, Amsted proudly took home the Ontario renovation industry’s top prize – Renovator of the Year.
The Awards of Distinction recognize innovation and excellence in residential construction across Ontario. The OHBA Ontario Renovator of the Year award further expands these criteria to recognize outstanding professionalism and integrity within the company’s business, industry and community at large.
Amsted is a five-time winner of the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association Renovator of the Year, but this is the first time the company has been recognized province-wide.
Historically, the provincial and national organizations have focused more heavily on production builders. “When Renovator of the Year was introduced last year, we didn’t know until it was too late,” says Amsted Design-Build Owner, Steve Barkhouse. “We weren’t about to miss the opportunity a second time, to put our company up against the best of the best across all of Ontario.”
“We are proud to have been recognized several times at the local level, but this win takes us one step further,” says Barkhouse. “Our company is fueled by a belief in our Core Values, one of which encourages us to strive for advancement toward a higher stage. It’s great to see that realized in such a concrete way.”
Amsted also accepted the award for Most Outstanding Home Renovation with a retail value between $250,001 – $500,000, for a beautiful whole-home transformation on Island Park Drive.
