Over the past several weeks, we’ve been taking you behind the scenes at Amsted and introducing to our awesome staff: They are a huge part of our success and why clients continue to give us great reviews and referrals. Here’s the latest trio to meet: Greg, Cathy and Aidan.
Greg S.
Design Technician
What do you do?
I’m a designer. I take the client’s ideas, needs and wants and visualize them, turning them into something clients can see. I also provide the documentation for the project.
Fave project?
A basement project with a lot of challenging aspects. We had to deal with a nook under the stairs, a massive door and sound-proofing detailing just to name a few.
Away from work I…
Keep active. I play many sports and don’t like to be standing around.
Fave project in your own home?
My dining table. I found an old butcher-block slab, refinished it and built in shelving in lieu of legs at one end.
Best part about working at Amsted?
The people. Everyone is skilled and working towards a common goal. We are one big family.

Reception
What do you do?
Reception and Admin support.
Away from work I…
Enjoy watching hockey, reading and refinishing furniture.
Fave project in your own home?
I’m in the process of doing a games room/Ottawa Senators room.
Best part about working at Amsted?
The people (the team).
Aidan M.
Apprentice Carpenter
What do you do?
My role at Amsted is an Apprentice Carpenter.
Fave project?
A whole-home renovation we did in the Glebe. The clients are so nice, the work that we are doing is incredible and there is so much to learn as the project goes on.
Away from work I…
Enjoy golfing, doing small projects around the house, hanging with friends and relaxing at the farm.
Fave project in your own home?
The basement. We built some pretty wicked built-ins and an electric fireplace and it’s a great place to play pool and watch hockey.
Best part about working at Amsted?
The staff. We are so lucky to have such incredible people we work with on a daily basis. They are always there to help, teach and congratulate on a job well done.
