While validation of our work comes from a homeowner’s satisfaction in a job well done, it’s also a thrill to be recognized by our peers. That’s why we always look forward to awards season!
This month we were honoured to learn that we have been named a finalist in seven categories at the Housing Design Awards put on by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association. As an added bonus, we have also been named a finalist for the provincial Renovator of the Year category in the Ontario Home Builders’ Association Awards of Distinction.
Both sets of awards are judged by experts in our industry, who look at the projects and special achievement entries with the critical eye of someone who knows the business and the standards to which we should be held. It’s what makes being named a finalist or winner that much more satisfying.
We are proud to have a long track record of collecting trophies over the years, but that certainly doesn’t make us complacent. If anything, it pushes us to strive even harder to improve on our achievements.
Every project that is selected as a finalist is worth celebrating, but we are particularly proud of the special achievement categories. This year we are a finalist for Renovator of the Year at both the local and provincial levels – a category we have won a record six times locally and the last two years running at the provincial level. To us, that says a lot about the quality of the work we do, the service we provide and the professionalism and dedication to our industry that we live by.
New to us this year is being nominated in the Designer of the Year category at the Housing Design Awards. This is a reflection of our recent formalized partnership with designer Chuck Mills, with whom we have collaborated for many years.
We look forward to sharing details of all of our finalist projects in the coming weeks. For now, here are some of the photos to inspire you in your next project. If you like what you see, how about casting a vote for them in the People’s Choice Awards?
People’s Choice is a special category at the Housing Design Awards. It’s one that is particularly sought after since it is voted on by the public. This year, voting will take place in seven rounds, with the top two choices in each round making it to the finals. Some of our projects are up for voting this week. You can vote here. Be sure to vote between Wednesday and Sunday!
